Just before her clients were about to cross the finish line with their home’s architectural plans, Juaneice Munoz, of La Casa Azul Design, was brought in to make some last-minute and mightily important changes. Working under a tight deadline didn’t limit her ability to produce a so and textural design that brought her clients’ mood board to life. See what amazing things can be done in a time crunch in the photos below, photographed by Ryan Garvin.

From the designer… Our clients reached out to us two weeks before construction was about to begin on their one-story ranch-style home. Not settled about the architectural plans they wanted to have me look at them and consult before their new home was torn down to the studs. Immediately I was able to give them advice on how the home could really work for their family. They hired me on the spot and we were off to the races to make the necessary changes to the plan. Our client shared with us her ideal look, which was a mood board with several of our past projects on it so we were very excited! In less than four weeks (one of which I was in Mexico) we were able to re-design the kitchen layout to maximize the design, and use of their new home.

The client adored neutrals and told us she did not want to see any color, only texture. So we started calling the project ‘Give Me Texture’. The challenge was not only to provide a beautiful space but because we were under a time crunch, so every single item had to be in-stock, no exceptions. In the end, they decided they would wait for the fridge and it came just a few months ago, which is why you don’t see a beautiful sub-zero in any photos. We worked really hard to make sure the client never received less of a design because of the timing. When we finished this project it was four months from start to finish the fastest a build like this has ever been completed.
