In this Miramar, Florida bathroom remodel, KJ Design Collective leaned into the spa-like essence the homeowners desired. With thoughtful consideration and clever planning, Janine was able to fit every element of a luxury spa experience into the existing footprint of the space. We invite you to enjoy a moment of zen while you take a peek in this bright and relaxing spa escape.
From the designer… The primary bathroom was given a complete overhaul because the original layout was not maximizing the space to the fullest. We started off by completely redesigning the footprint. By removing the outdated tub and linen closet, we were able to gain a few crucial square feet. With this additional space, we were able to fit in a new freestanding tub and makeup vanity area. The client wanted a larger shower that doubled as a steam room, so to accomplish this we customized the glass enclosure to have a pivoted panel installed above the glass door. This would allow the steam to be kept in the shower when needed.
The design concept we went for was modern and earthy, with a global flair. The homeowners wanted this space to have a zen-like feel while still be warm and inviting. One of our favorite moments in this space is the custom vanity we designed. The vanity features a beautiful teak finish, brass hardware, and calacatta inspired quartz stone top. The vanity is complemented by a floor-to-ceiling tiled wall. We knew we wanted this to be the standout area in the space, so we went with the Cloe tile from Bedrosians. The subtle color variation in this tile was the perfect addition.
We loved how this space turned and couldn’t wait to show the completed room to our clients. On reveal day, our client was moved to tears with the excitement of seeing the new design come to life. It’s moments like this, when we exceed clients’ expectations, that make what we do for a living extremely rewarding.
