This two-bedroom Brooklyn condo got a warm and minimalist renovation by the talent at Miranda and Co. By layering neutral investment pieces with tons of texture she created a luxury escape that oozes spa-like relaxation. Learn just how she did it in the gorgeous shots below.
From the designer… The design of the space was inspired by our client who travels for both work and leisure. Since travel is a big part of their lives, they want the space to feel like a luxurious destination that they come home to after a long day. They also wanted a neutral color palette with some accents. This meant using a lot of textures to bring the whites and creams to life. We used boucle for the sofa, wool for the rug, linen for the drapery, marble coffee table, and velvet and sheepskin for the lounge chairs.
Making the space feel like it was a high-end luxury hotel called for classic investment furniture pieces. We used the petite swoon chair, the knitting chair, and the marble plinth coffee table. We also used the Hoffman chairs with a custom maple table in the dining room. Above the dining table is a matte black custom conical chandelier that is very striking from any angle. In the kitchen we used Room and Board counter stools and pendant lighting.
The primary bedroom is also hotel/spa like. It employs beiges and creams to create a serene luxe setting. The Danny Kaplan table lamps on either side of the bed are the standout element in the bedroom. These ceramic lights sit atop custom white oak nightstands with ample storage. The limewash walls are a great way to add texture to the space without having to invest in the material and labor involved with wallpaper. When it came to accessorizing, the client did not like clutter and wanted to be very minimal, but we did use her grandfather’s onyx pieces that he collected during the war.
