Designed by Alexis Koehler Interiors, this Toronto home captures the warmth of family memories in a timeless and inviting atmosphere. Patrick Biller’s photography highlights the transitional style — a blend of warm woods, soft off-whites, and whimsical floral wallpapers, showcasing this homes soft sophistication.
From the designer… Build on 24 was a dream project for a truly special family—a husband, wife, and their two children. Set on the same street where my client’s grandmother grew up, this home was designed to be more than just a house. It needed to capture the warmth of the family, serve as a space for creativity, making unforgettable memories, and provide a welcoming environment for hosting friends and family. When sourcing materials for the project, it was the honed Taj Mahal quartzite that we couldn’t stop thinking about. It quickly became central to the design’s palette, inspiring the soft, natural tones that defined each room. However, for a few unexpected moments, we also embraced bold choices in a few of the rooms. The powder room features an iconic heritage wallpaper, while the office was color-drenched in a deep blue-green tone, with detailed wall moldings to add depth & character. A fun & unique feature of the home is a hidden door between the custom-paneled fridge and freezer, which leads to the butler’s pantry and seamlessly connects to the dining room.
Every detail was thoughtfully crafted to reflect their story, creating a home that feels deeply connected and truly timeless.
