This bathroom transformation wouldn’t have quite the same kick without the deep olive plaster finish that gently shimmers with light and texture. Sheila Kramer Interiors used this beautiful finish, and myriad thoughtful touches, to create a moody and modern sanctuary. She continued the deep green in the mudroom/laundry room down the hall and Vivian Johnson beautifully captured the shots of it below for us to enjoy.

From the designer… These clients were dripping with style and possessed the most designer-activating, “Go for it!”, attitude. From my very first meeting with them, I was bursting at the seams with ideas. I knew that they’d both be up for a unique approach to a primary bathroom – instead of light and bright, we went with moody and sultry, and wow, did it pay off! We brought in our decorative-wall-artist-extraordinaire, Charles Leonard to wrap the room (ceiling included) in a dark olive Venetian plaster. We used Commune Design tiles from Exquisite Surfaces on the floor throughout the space and in the shower. We had LA boss babe Anna Warmoth and her team at Bananas and Hammocks craft our shower enclosure, towel ladder, and ceiling-hung mirrors. The custom vanity was finished with gorgeous stone from Petra Fina, Waterworks aged brass fixtures, concrete sinks from Nood.

In the combined laundry room/mudroom, we went a bit more playful using custom colored Popham Designs tiles on the wall. We did custom cabinetry throughout with a locker for each family member (including the dog!), a hidden stacked washer/dryer, and a great built-in bench with Edelman Leather wrapped cushions for a comfy place to perch while getting the littles ready to depart for the day!
