FEATURE CREDITS

Take a peek inside deVOL’s new Los Angeles showroom and you’ll notice nothing here feels rushed or loud. Rather than announce itself, the space invites passersby to pause, look closer, and imagine a slower, more intentional way of living. The experience begins with a window — a quiet moment on La Cienega Boulevard that offers a glimpse into the brand’s world of handmade furniture, thoughtful craftsmanship, and timeless restraint. The showroom unfolds more like a home than a series of displays: layered, considered, and unmistakably English, yet perfectly at ease in Southern California light. Step inside and discover how deVOL brought their West Coast outpost to life.

From Helen Parker, Creative Director of deVOL… deVOL has finally made it to sunny California, we can’t quite believe it, Loughborough to LA! Our new home at 740 North La Cienega sits in the very center of West Hollywood’s Design District. The showroom is larger than it appears, brimming with character and design inspiration.

There are six displays showcasing all our furniture and accessories in creative and calm rooms with plenty of vintage additions to make the spaces feel just like home. We have a powder room, a bar and some very English kitchens, we even have a tropical courtyard where you can take afternoon tea while one of our designers plans out your new kitchen.

We don’t know LA very well, so we would love you all to tell us your favourite places. We hope to feel like locals before too long. We can’t wait to show you around our new showroom and talk to you about all things deVOL.

A Window into deVOL’s LA Showroom

Beyond the window, the showroom opens into a spacious, light-filled kitchen that balances generosity with restraint. This very simple display shows a space that is quintessentially English, with its terracotta tiled floor, Dairy Table, open cupboards and delightfully organized plate racks. The walls have been covered in Ditsy Delft Wallpaper, subtle and clean and the perfect ‘hardly there’ backdrop to the Trinity Blue cupboards and simple styling.

The Heirloom Kitchen

Just beyond the window display, the showroom opens into a spacious, light-filled kitchen with a soft, restrained palette. Inspired by under-the-stairs kitchens in English country homes, the space balances generous storage with an easy warmth, thanks to plaster-toned walls and rich wood floors that ground the room. Cream subway tile, a janitor’s sink, and thoughtfully placed lighting bring function to the forefront, while a copper canopy, brass sink, and vintage accents add quiet glamour. Practical and welcoming, this kitchen is designed for everyday life, where classic forms meet lived-in charm.

A Moody Haberdasher’s Bar

Turning a corner, the mood shifts. Painted in Bobbin Black, the Haberdasher’s bar feels cocooning and intimate, anchored by a polished brass countertop that catches the light. Grasscloth wallpaper, emerald tiles, and hand-dyed oak floors layer texture and depth, while bentwood chairs and vineyard tables lend a hint of European café culture.

The Shaker Kitchen and Walk-In Pantry

The Shaker kitchen introduces three new deVOL paint colors — earthy, muted tones that feel both fresh and familiar. A prep table stands in place of a traditional island, keeping the room open and unfussy, while a built-in bench and low-hung lighting create a natural gathering spot nearby.

Just beyond, a walk-in pantry balances beauty and utility. It’s pared back, hardworking, and quietly luxurious — the kind of space that becomes essential the moment you live with it.

A Sebastian Cox and Haberdasher’s Kitchen

The final display blends Haberdasher’s and Sebastian Cox cabinetry in a relaxed space that feels soft and coastal, echoing the landscape just beyond the showroom walls. Both collections lean more contemporary and untraditional than deVOL’s other designs, with unpainted wood that highlights the natural grain and brings an easy, unfussy warmth to the room. Earthy tones, simple styling, and a wall of Ditsy Delft tiles add depth without distraction, creating a room that feels grounded, livable, and deeply considered — a soft, thoughtful close to the showroom experience.
