Luxe leather and finely finished plaster elements do more than bring texture into this family home, they create a comforting space the whole family can feel swaddled by. C&E Furniture brilliantly layered natural, child-friendly, materials in a modern way that soothes the senses and feels like a warm hug. Take the tour in the gorgeous shots below.
From the designer… The intent for this design was to create a space that felt intimate and earthy while still embodying modern elements. Bringing in different textures was a priority from the very beginning. We sourced pieces that had clean lines, organic textures and moody hues, while keeping it livable for a family with small children.
I knew I wanted to incorporate the element of plaster. It has such an old world feel and provides incredible movement to a space. In our initial concepts, it was clear to us the fireplace needed to be a focal point, so incorporating it on the mantel was a natural evolution. Seeing the completed look was such an exciting moment!
Executing our design while making sure that it was functional for a family with two small children was a challenge. Finding pieces that incorporated leathers, high-performance fabrics, and durable textures that brought a modern touch was key. I love the way all of these elements came together throughout the space. Seeing all these details play off each other room by room, but especially in the living room, is one of my favorite parts of this home.
