Just when we’re getting cozy for the winter this home has us dreaming of warm sunny days. Erika, of [FIXE] Design House, worked with her long-time friend to create a space that looks and feels like a breath of fresh air. A pass-through window that joins the outdoors to the home’s heart, the kitchen, and sun-washed wood tones create a home that this family just may come in from the outdoors to enjoy. Take a peek at the charming shots captured by Charlotte Lea Photography.
From the designer… This home will always be one of the design firms’ personal favorite remodels for many reasons. Working alongside Erika’s long-time, like-minded BFF, Mandy was a real dream. Having shared many life experiences (and both coming from the fashion industry) made the design process both seamless and effortless. There was a mutual vision to create spaces to evoke a luxe yet casual warmth with minimal, organic elements that were both modern and timeless. All the while feeling fresh, current, and inviting. The perfect setting for Mandy and her family (as she happens to be Co-Owner and President at Z Supply Clothing) embodying simplicity, comfort, and style at home and at work!
Designing this home in the midst of our “stay at home” order proved to be very difficult for many reasons. Coupled with the fact that Erika was thrown into an unplanned reno of her own home, due to a leak. Despite the uphill battles present during normal construction and with the unprecedented timing, the process was ultimately a very fruitful one. The home honors the heart and soul of this stylish surf family. Natural elements such as warm oak flooring, natural terrazzo tile, touches of brass, custom oak fluted hood and modern slim shaker cabinetry all worked harmoniously to create a muted palette, perfect to luxuriously lounge in following their daily surf sessions.
