Ok, ok… this title is absolutely a hook—but I think you’ll agree that this hue is undeniably charming and makes a killer statement in this home. We tapped designer Alison White for details (including the exact paint color). She aimed to convey a peaceful mood when stepping inside this abode and that vibe certainly shines through. Tell us a bit about the inspiration behind this design. What were the goals of this project?
We tried to create a custom modern farmhouse that was different than a lot of the builder grade, cookie-cutter homes in the area. We wanted to appeal to discerning buyers who were looking for a one-of-a-kind house. We started with a unique shape to the high ceilings and finished the house from there!
We love the blue you used on the kitchen island. Can you share the paint color/brand with us?

The modern rusticity of the range wall is beautiful—from the counter to ceiling tile to the sleek hook with wood detailing. Can you share how you made this design moment come to life?
Thank you! Together with the architect, we had a 10’6” long island with a corresponding range nook that we felt was the perfect space for open shelving and a feature wall of tile. We wanted to keep it simple and classic, while unique and inviting at the same time. We considered a number of tiles but kept coming back to zellige tile because of its character. We tied everything together with white oak open shelving and a corresponding band on the custom plaster hood.
