From the designer… Situated along the breathtaking shoreline of Bethany Beach, this oceanfront residence underwent a transformative two-year renovation in collaboration with Dewson Construction. Originally planned as a one-year project, unforeseen water damage uncovered during the demolition phase necessitated an expanded scope, leading to a complete reconfiguration of the home’s interior and exterior. The result is a refined coastal retreat that seamlessly blends understated luxury with effortless comfort, designed to accommodate the homeowners’ extended family and guests.

One of the most impactful changes was the strategic reimagining of the home’s layout. Walls were moved to create a more expansive and inviting primary suite, while the once-enclosed staircase was replaced with a stunning open stairwell featuring a clean and simple profile. The great room, designed for both gathering and relaxation, saw the removal of unsightly columns and the introduction of custom millwork, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

Maximizing the home’s unparalleled oceanfront views was a top priority. The existing windows were not only replaced but also reimagined, expanding into floor-to-ceiling glass that invites natural light and uninterrupted coastal panoramas. Structural beams that previously obstructed sightlines were eliminated, creating a seamless visual connection to the sea. These enhancements extend to the exterior, where new siding and custom doors further elevate the home’s timeless coastal charm.

Luxury finishes and bespoke details define every space. High-end furnishings from Gregorius Pineo and Holly Hunt complement the sophisticated yet inviting interiors. The primary bedroom is wrapped in elegant linen wallpaper, while Wolf and SubZero appliances bring top-tier functionality to the kitchen. Custom cabinetry, expertly crafted by Lyndon Heath Cabinetry, lends a refined, tailored touch throughout. The bunk bedrooms offer a playful nod to whimsy with Juliet Travers wallpaper, and the homeowners’ remarkable fine art photography collection is thoughtfully displayed to personalize the space.

Despite the challenges—unexpected structural damage, an expanded timeline, and HOA restrictions that paused work during summer months—the final result is a stunning coastal haven. Designed to be both a retreat and an entertainer’s dream, this home effortlessly balances luxury with livability, ensuring cherished moments for family and guests alike for years to come.
