Step into the heart of a treasured family abode that underwent a remarkable renovation journey, blending contemporary warmth with timeless heritage. With careful consideration of its rich family history and a dash of bespoke inspiration from the original blueprints, Alchemy Collective breathed new life into every space, crafting a modern haven that honors cherished memories and embraces future chapters.

From the designer… Bringing modern warmth, timeless materials, and increased functionality for the cutest family of four made all the difference in their character filled home. We gave this traditional, generational family home a detailed, cosmetic gut renovation. The homeowner inherited this sweet home from her grandparents, who lived there her entire childhood. While this warm, heart-centered space held years of memories, holidays, and life chapters within its walls, it was in great need of bringing up to date. A wallpapered kitchen, traditional light fixtures, old appliances, and tired finishes had seen their era. A fun discovery at the beginning of the project, was finding original blueprints of the home, including a small oval shaped emblem with a hand drawing. This small bespoke touch led to the inspiration for our design development process.

Our design studio collaborated with this sweet young family to keep the character and charm of the home intact, paying homage to the wife’s roots. We brightened and lightened the space with a new paint palette, highlighting an abundance of natural light from the traditional wood paned windows. We replaced most hard finishes within the home, updating them while making them feel like they’d always been there. A brand new kitchen particularly steals the show, where full layout and materiality changes made this once dated and barely functioning space sing for modern family needs.
