Rough-hewn wood beams and unlacquered brass hardware lend a relaxed feel to this traditional leaning home. JM Foundarie Interiors created a space that is elevated in style (check out the Calacatta Paonazzo marble sink!) while remaining comfortable for a family of five (hence the dual island). See how they carried this design perspective throughout the rest of the house in the cozy tour below.
From the designer… Our client is in finance and while she has a great eye for design, she knew she needed help with execution. This is her family’s forever home so getting the details right was very important from the inception of the project. In the kitchen, there was a big emphasis on how much they love to entertain and creating a space that was large enough for their family of five. We created two islands- one being more for utility and one for seating. The color palette for the kitchen was inspired directly by the marble, Calacatta Paonazzo, which we knew early on that we would use. We paired this marble with Zellige tile, warm wood tones, and unlacquered brass that will age beautifully over time.
The mudroom and pantry were areas where we played with pops of color and created varied types of storage for maximum function. In the dining room, we added classic wainscoting with custom plastered walls in a dark neutral tone. This room is the perfect mix of new and old with an Apparatus Trapeze fixture, oval Nickey Kehoe dining table paired with a stunning vintage rug, and a black hutch filled with vintage treasures. The great room cannot be ignored with an over scale custom dark oak media center with gorgeous glass arched doors and Cremone bolt hardware. This room is filled with deep rich tones and a variety of seating for family movie nights.
