Clean lines, organic textures, and thoughtful upgrades define this kitchen transformation by Design for Living by Alison Haltom. Captured through the lens of Nicole Dianne, the remodel elevates a once builder-grade space into a refined and functional heart of the home. With custom cabinetry, striking Mont Blanc quartzite, and a meticulously organized storage, every detail was designed to enhance both beauty and practicality.

From the designer… When our clients came to us to remodel the kitchen in their home that had been built just five years prior, it was clear that the builder-grade cabinets were not going to last much longer. Our goal was to maintain the current footprint in order to keep the existing hardwood floors, but to upgrade everything in the kitchen to create the client’s dream space. Several design meetings were focused on cabinet design to lay out every detail, from spices to Tupperware storage. One major change was made to the layout to create symmetry on the back wall. The cooktop and hood were moved so that they were centered with the island, creating a focal point that draws your eye.

The client’s existing large black and gold pendants flank the new hood, and the dramatic quartzite backsplash and ledge detail topped with hand-fired ceramic tile finish off the back wall. Custom rift white oak cabinetry mixed with painted white cabinetry combines a clean and organic look. Natural stone Mont Blanc quartzite countertops with organic veining pull together the white oak and painted cabinets. An unlacquered brass faucet and hardware finished the kitchen with a natural yet glamorous statement.

An existing base cabinet just inside the garage entry that was used as mail station was transformed into a decorative display cabinet with storage below. The door to the left of the decorative cabinet reveals an upgraded custom pantry with bold green cabinets and black granite countertops.
