This project took a Tuscan-style spec home and transformed it into a modern, contemporary retreat for a father and his two college age kids. With a keen focus on functionality and style, Bryan Design Group reimagined the space, blending clean lines with rich textures. From Bryan Design Group… Reimagining a Tuscan-style spec home into a modern, contemporary retreat was no small feat, but our client—a single father with a college student and teenager—was eager for a fresh start without losing the home’s architectural character. We began by redesigning the kitchen with a more functional island, improved storage solutions, and added a limewash and plaster treatment courtesy of a local artisan to soften the heavy stone elements. We updated the counters with porcelain slabs to provide beauty and durability without breaking the budget. Zellige tiles compliment the stone wall and counters nicely. Soft rubbed brass cabinet hardware brighten up and warm the dark ebony toned cabinets. Contemporary metal stools at the island provide the perfect place to gather.

The furnishings throughout were carefully chosen to add rich, textural layers with a modern touch, while performance fabrics ensure that everything remains fresh and durable for years. In the great room, the fireplace and media wall were reimagined to subtly house electronic components, creating a sleek, streamlined design that still maintains the warmth of the space. The fireplace was further elevated with new marble mosaic tiles and a refreshed hearth.

We updated the outdoor entertaining areas with edgy contemporary furnishings for frequent gatherings in our temperate year round climate.
