From the designer… This project consisted of a full remodel and addition. The clients wanted to seamlessly blend their individual modern and transitional aesthetics which required a delicate balance and a thoughtful approach. The husband leans towards the sleek lines and minimalist elements of modern design, while the wife prefers the warmth and classic details associated with transitional style. The challenge was to create a harmonious living space that reflected both of their tastes.
We spent a lot of time in the conceptualization phase to explore the layout, color palette, and materials to make sure each person was heard. We selected a mostly neutral color scheme for the main living areas and then brought in pattern and color throughout for interest. We designed the home to have multiple focal points and design elements throughout to create a fluid transition between the two styles.
After the construction phase, we installed modern furniture with clean lines and minimalistic profiles to coexist with transitional pieces that feature timeless patterns and textures. Accessories and decor items were carefully chosen to bridge the gap between the two aesthetics, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.
The completion of the project marks the realization of a home that reflects the unique personalities of both clients. The collaborative effort not only resulted in a visually stunning home but also stretched our creativity and thoughtfulness for a home that is truly a reflection of the homeowners.
