story notes /

Designers, Lindsay and Alex of Three Salt Design Co., believe that “modern doesn’t have to mean void of character” and I’m fully on board with that statement. If you are too, you’ll want to stick around for the tour we’re serving up today—it comes complete with acrylic flat-panel cabinets, a waterfall island and vertical shiplap. Yes, yes, yes. Take a scroll through.

A brief overview from Three Salt Design Co.… From the start of this project, we were given the task of eliminating massive trouble columns that hit you as soon as you walked through the front door.  With the client’s style being so modern and minimalistic, having these huge eyesores to greet them each day didn’t seem reasonable at all. Almost immediately we learned that the columns were here to stay; a structural requirement that would cost more than their worth to remove.  So we got right to work with a design that would, instead, make them a fan favorite.

Our goal, above all, was to create a space that really embodied the client’s simple style but reflected their warm personalities.  Our mission for this project was to convince everyone that modern doesn’t have to mean void of character! We paired custom acrylic flat panel cabinets with a moody charcoal hue to create depth and rich white oak throughout for warmth.  Our custom sofa displays a neat channel tuft that mirrors the natural vertical shiplap bench at the entry. With each detail considered and curated, we’ve never been more proud of a modern home design.
