Mia Sandmark Design infused the clean-lined architecture with layers of texture, curated art, and relaxed elegance, creating a modern yet inviting retreat. From Mia Sandmark Design… The Fisher Oak Residence in Sonoma’s wine country is a stunning blend of architectural sophistication and natural beauty. Designed by architect Juan Diego Perez-Vargas as a sanctuary for his family, the home celebrates its surroundings with timeless elegance and sustainability. When we were invited to furnish the interiors, we saw an exciting opportunity to bring warmth, personality, and livability to an already extraordinary space. Inspired by the home’s clean lines and organic palette, we curated furnishings that felt like a natural extension of the architecture. From tactile fabrics to thoughtful textures and finishes, every detail was chosen to honor the serene atmosphere while adding comfort and charm.
A highlight of the project was designing the great room, with its vaulted ceilings and expansive windows. We balanced scale with intimacy, creating a space that feels both grand and inviting while seamlessly connecting to the breathtaking outdoors. Throughout the home, we layered in the homeowners’ art collection alongside additional curated pieces, soft textures, and meaningful decor, creating a space that truly embodies the comfort and essence of home.
