This Mid-Century abode seamlessly adapted to the homeowner’s evolving needs, accommodating remote work and a growing family, with the help of Gilded Hearth Interiors. From a practical yet stylish bedroom with vintage accents to a playful home office with a touch of whimsy, this renovation ticks all the boxes. From the designer… This Mid Century home was in need of a refresh during the pandemic when the client went to work from home and another baby joined the family. The bedroom was a small footprint with a large bed so we had to make a more practical closet work and keep the floor plan to essential items only. Sourcing vintage nightstands and a tall boy dresser helped keep it feeling open and airy while adding some depth. For the office a long slim desk and pop of patterned wallpaper added that playful whimsy the client was seeking.

While we didn’t change the footprint or layout of the bathroom we were able to make the bathroom feel so different by removing an awkward door to the exterior and replacing it with a window, as well as replace a wall between the toilet and tub with a fixed glass. Lastly they really wanted a double vanity so we had one custom made to specific dimensions that still allowed space for laundry to maximize the practicality of the space.
