This New Jersey home redesign was more than 12 months in the making. Designer, Trish, of Colette Interiors, worked through multiple supply chain delays to deliver this timeless design full of texture and natural finishes. We think it was well worth the wait. Take a tour of the beautiful images by Raquel Langworthy to see how Trish created this home’s organic and timeless feel.
From the designer… Our client is a family of six, with four young children. We wanted to create an elevated but approachable space that focused on casual comfort. The design aesthetic is organic modern so we incorporated warm woods, Moroccan tiles, over grouted stone, and lots of layers and textures. We finished many areas in paneling in v-groove and tongue & groove on ceilings, walls, and backsplashes. This provided a clean-lined backdrop to layer in art, styling, & décor.
Covid posed serious challenges in the way of delays on furnishings. We waited 12 months for the arrival of our custom upholstered sofas for the living room space, in addition to many other delays on other furnishings and finishes. We were grateful for the most understanding client under the circumstances.
The breakfast nook was a favorite unique feature of the space. We modernized it, creating a more natural pass-through transition between living and kitchen space.
