From Light and Dwell… This Texas ranch retreat was conceived as a vacation home gathering spot for a large family who envisioned developing their entire property into a comprehensive lifestyle destination. The clients’ ambitious vision extended beyond the home itself to include a man-made lake, hot yoga studio, and fruit orchards, creating an immersive connection to the land. The design’s defining moment came with the discovery of original barn beams, which were carefully salvaged and incorporated as key architectural elements throughout the interior. These weathered timbers became the project’s narrative thread, inspiring a material palette that celebrates authentic craftsmanship while maintaining the sophisticated comfort needed for a multi-generational family retreat.
