Set in Hinsdale, IL, this home reflects a decade of evolving family life, now reimagined to suit the needs of its dynamic household.
From TKS Design Group… This interior design project strikes a balance between subtle formality, in keeping with the home’s architecture, and a whimsical touch that brings in vibrant artwork and color. Our clients, busy professionals with four children, had lived in this home for a decade without fully furnishing every space due to their evolving needs. With their children growing older, they were finally ready to define how each area could best serve their family. Each room was carefully curated to reflect their lifestyle, resulting in a home that feels cozy, colorful, sophisticated, and inviting.
The original coffered ceiling in the living room is highlighted by a playful bubble chandelier, drawing the eye upward and emphasizing this architectural feature. A sculptural kidney-shaped cocktail table in the living room adds both functionality and a conversation-worthy element, while large-scale artwork, soft upholstery, and a thoughtful mix of textiles and patterns create a layered, inviting space.
In the primary bedroom, the previously understated tray ceiling was enhanced with crown molding, creating a distinct separation between the walls and ceiling. By painting the trim dark and keeping the walls light, we introduced a dramatic contrast.
