This New South Wales kitchen was not only designed with the homeowners’ specific cooking habits in mind, but with the intention of bringing subtle texture and movement to this bright space. Learn about how Paiano Design brought it all together and see the gorgeous results in the story below!
From the designer… A contemporary, coastal aesthetic was delivered in this project with emphasis on light and harmony, a priority of the design. Featuring bright whites, natural materials, and an accent of timber veneer to provide warmth, the result is an innovative space that functions seamlessly for a young family. We decided to separate the cooking and preparation zones as requested, so husband and wife aren’t stepping over one another. Our clients strongly wanted the cooktop and rangehood on the separate west-facing wall, adjacent to the wall ovens, as the wife wanted to have the sink, prep, and cleaning zone next to the ovens as she loves to bake.
Natural stone is the focal point of the kitchen – a Super White Dolomite was hand selected and combined with tactile matching fluted tiles above the splashbacks and carried through to the fireplace for visual balance. The island and rangehood are clad in waterproof Venetian plaster bringing texture, and the island was designed with arches brining movement to the space.
