This Philly home already had a dose of charm when Black Forest Design and Build was brought in to refresh the kitchen. They leaned into the nostalgia of the space by adding brass touches that play off the vintage-inspired slate blue cabinets. Rebecca McAlpin captured the essence of this space beautifully as seen in the photos below.
From the designer… This special project based in Philadelphia was an older home that already possessed its own unique character. Our goal here was to seamlessly blend the existing style of the home with modern updates, creating a space that felt both refreshed and authentic.
Every nook and cranny of this kitchen got a refresh. We installed new engineered hardwood flooring and custom cabinetry throughout the space. Fully embracing the beauty of natural materials, the homeowners opted for marble countertops and a custom island made of real wood.
From the decorative toe kick under the cabinetry to the brass railing along the coffee bar’s open shelves, we focused on incorporating various features and accessories to add a touch of vintage charm to the space. We also showcased the homeowner’s impressive collection of antique cutting boards, creating a delightful display that adds nostalgia and interest.
