A newly built home in Studio City becomes something far more nuanced under the direction of Jessica Alpert Design, who approached the furnishing of this residence with a collector’s eye and a reverence for materiality. The interiors layer artisan-sourced pieces, saturated tones, and bold moments of scale to create depth within a fresh architectural envelope. Captured through the lens of photographer Sam Frost, it feels less like a staged new build and more like a space shaped by time, instinct, and intention.

From Jessica Alpert Design… This Studio City new build, featuring three bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths, was sold fully furnished to a young family relocating from Manhattan Beach. The home is an organic, eclectic composition of furnishings and natural materials sourced from artisans around the world. The intention was to create a home that feels deeply collected and bespoke, with a thoughtful mix of textures, including linen, velvet, wool, and mohair, adding depth and layering throughout. Although the home was furnished in a single phase, each piece was selected to evoke the sense of a collection assembled over time.

Architectural details play a central role in grounding the interiors, while a restrained and uniform palette of finishes and materials creates cohesion throughout the home. Saturated hues and richly layered materials are thoughtfully combined to create a space that feels both elevated and livable. Overscaled art and statement lighting were intentionally introduced to create visual drama and a dynamic sense of proportion, balancing individuality with the comfort required for modern family life.
