From Lauren Nelson Design… This vineyard home lives in the quaint small town of Kenwood, nestled between the mountains that separate Napa and Sonoma. Home to a young family of five, it serves as a summer escape for extended family and friends. Our goal was to create a cozy, playful, lived-in retreat that seamlessly connects the pool and the house, and allows guests to feel comfortable in every space.
To improve the connection to the sweeping outdoor views, we collaborated with Geddes Ulsinkas Architecture to renovate and open up the backside of the house with tall stacking glass doors that span its entire length, and added a covered patio. Inspired by traditional English cottages, we leaned into repurposing old furniture with new fabrics and assigned each room its own color story through paint and patterned textiles.
