From the designer… I wanted to create a coastal ranch-style kitchen with materials that would be easy to maintain. The space was relatively small, so I carefully designed it to maximize storage and functionality while keeping it open and spacious. To achieve this, I used built-in panel-ready appliances and included a built-in ice maker for entertaining. The specialty finishes, resembling aged brass, have a protective coating to prevent oxidation or tarnishing. I also added a pot filler, water filter faucets at the sink, a custom plaster hood with walnut detailing, a sealed brick backsplash to withstand sauce and oil splashes, and quartz counters designed to look like raw concrete but with the durability and ease of care that quartz offers.
When it was time to style and photograph the project, everything really came to life. I added various decorative elements to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The beverage bar added to the feeling of hospitality, and during the shoot, we all enjoyed sipping our favorite colas in a relaxed, fun setting. The styling aimed to evoke a sense of coziness and family gatherings, similar to the warmth you might find in a Nancy Meyers movie.
