The coziest of seasons is upon us, friends, and that means a fall refresh is in order. Many of us often start with the main living spaces when it comes to seasonal updates, and the bedroom gets pushed down on the priority list—or worse, neglected altogether. Yet this is one of the spaces in our homes that should get the most love! After all, it’s where we begin and end our days. We’ve invited designer, Bria Hammel, on the blog to share three bedroom designs that’ll inspire a new look for your own—all paired with a few of our favorite pieces from her shop, Brooke & Lou, so you can get the look, too!
Utilize Calming Colors
A bedroom, more than any other room in the home, should be a place of peace and relaxation. Utilizing a soft color palette (i.e. soft grays, blush pinks, creams, blues, etc.) can immediately put you at ease and has even proven to help you fall asleep faster!
Opt for Upholstered Furniture
For extra coziness, go with an upholstered bed: A bed that features some type of upholstery is perfect for comfortable lounging and adds an extra layer of softness to your space.
Opposites Attract
Whether you go neutral or want to opt for color, we like to suggest creating a balance. So, if you’re looking at a dark, contrasted nightstand perhaps select a white or light grey dresser (or vise-versa). This will avoid it looking like a matching set and more of a custom design.
