When Jaimee Livingston of Livingston Interiors set out to give this home a fresh update for a family of seven, a neutral and timeless vibe was at the forefront. Her clients craved traditional elements, but with a new, current look. That’s just what she gave them with layers of texture and subtle colors—the result? A serene Irvine retreat. With STN Builders at the build helm and Mol Goodman stepping in to capture the final result, I dare you not to pin every gorgeous image below.
What were the top priorities for this project?
This home belongs to a busy family of 7, so we wanted it to be beautiful, but comfortable and livable. The finishes needed to be durable and timeless, so we went with a quartzite on the counter tops and Perennials Indoor/Outdoor fabrics on the sofa.
What were some challenges you experienced or design risks you took when designing this home?
The husband was very nervous about everything being white, so we added intensional layers with different textures and neutral shades to make the space still feel warm and inviting and not too stark.
Do you have any tips for designing an open-concept space?
Make sure the rooms speak to each other. Use the same flooring and paint throughout to make the space feel cohesive.
