Designed by Doran Taylor and photographed by Audiss Authentic, this Salt Lake City home came together through a collaborative process focused on clarity, proportion, and thoughtful details. Materials flow from the exterior to the interior, creating easy sightlines and a visual rhythm that feels calm, cohesive, and natural both in person and through the lens.

From Doran Taylor…We had a great experience working with this client and design team. Our goal was to create a transitional, fresh-feeling home rooted in traditional architecture and design. From the outset of the project, we worked closely with the client, architect, builder, and landscape architect. From orienting the home on the lot to designing custom carpentry details, collaborating with the full team resulted in a more complete final product and a harmonious experience for the client.
We wanted the interior details to echo the architectural themes of the exterior. The same natural stones, paint colors, and finish detailing were used whenever possible to create a cohesive visual experience. For example, the brick detailing on the exterior is reflected in the Sheetrock work and finish carpentry throughout the interior. The furniture, rugs, window coverings, and accessories completed our vision, resulting in a beautiful home and a happy client.

From Erin Audiss… From a photographic standpoint, this project was defined by its clarity and control. The architecture and interiors presented strong, uninterrupted sightlines, consistent proportions, and a material palette that carried evenly from space to space, allowing each room to be captured as part of a larger visual sequence rather than as isolated moments. Light moved predictably throughout the home, revealing depth in the millwork, subtle shifts in texture, and the precision of the finish detailing. The restraint in material selection allowed the craftsmanship to read clearly on camera, while the layered furnishings introduced softness and scale without disrupting the architectural framework.
What stood out most was how resolved the home felt at every level. There were no visual interruptions or competing elements, which made both wide compositions and detail imagery feel intentional and editorial. Truly a work of art. I just adore this design team and the work they create, and I feel so grateful to be the one capturing it.
