Blending warmth, function, and modern minimalism, Burcu Ercetin of Design & Curations, reimagined this Atlanta family home into a haven of connection and calm. What began as a modest refresh evolved into a thoughtful main-floor transformation, where arches, fluted cabinetry, and sculptural accents bring softness to a refined palette. From Design & Curations… Project Riverside began as a simple kitchen, laundry, and dining refresh but quickly grew into a full main-floor renovation once the possibilities became clear. The family, a busy Atlanta household of four, wanted their home to feel brighter, more functional, and more connected. The original layout was full of walls and dark corners, with limited storage that made daily life feel cluttered. Our client envisioned a home that was open and airy, with a clean, chic aesthetic layered with warmth, durability, and playful touches for their young children.
One of the most transformative steps was reimagining the home’s flow. We removed walls between the kitchen and dining room, rerouted traffic through a redesigned mudroom and laundry area, and closed the garage entry into the kitchen so the range wall could become the grand focal point it deserved. Along the way, we introduced our beloved arches to add architectural charm and timeless character. Custom fluted cabinetry, sculptural lighting, and thoughtful details elevate the design throughout.
The kitchen became the heart of the home with its statement hood, wood ledge shelving, and sculptural leather stools. The dry bar of our dreams, tiled in a playful 2×2 emerald green mosaic, turned an empty wall into a vibrant family hub. In the living and seating rooms, cozy performance fabrics meet stylish finishes.
What makes Project Riverside so special is how it evolved with the family’s needs. It’s not only stylish, but designed to grow with them—chic enough for entertaining, clever enough for storage, and calm enough to feel like home.
