Designed by KTG Design, this Truckee retreat reimagines modern-mountain living with a blend of clean architectural lines, organic materials, and subtle sophistication. Rooted in its alpine surroundings, the home balances an adventurous spirit with a sense of calm and connection. Captured through the lens of Stephanie Russo, each space reflects a seamless harmony between rugged nature and refined design.

From KTG Design… Alpine Ascent was designed for an active family of five who live and breathe the outdoors. With three young children and a lifestyle centered around movement, wellness, and connection to nature, this home needed to be more than just beautiful—it had to function as a sanctuary and a source of daily restoration.
From its conception, the vision was clear: create a modern mountain retreat that feels both energizing and serene. The home includes a climbing wall, sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub—all integrated seamlessly into the architecture to support the family’s wellness rituals. These elements are not afterthoughts—they are central to how the space lives and breathes.

Design inspiration came directly from the surrounding alpine environment—earthy tones, warm wood textures, and natural stone were used to reflect the landscape just beyond the windows. Large panes of glass create a seamless flow between indoors and out, maximizing natural light and mountain views. Every material was chosen for its ability to ground the space in nature while elevating it with clean, modern lines and soft sophistication.

This home feels like a high-end wellness retreat—a space where the family can reset, reflect, and reconnect. It’s cozy without being cluttered, refined without being cold, and deeply personal to how this family lives, recharges, and grows together.
