Designed by Jamie Keefe Interiors this thoughtfully layered home strikes a balance between timeless elegance and modernity. Built from the ground up for a young family, the project marks a personal milestone for Jamie—her first opportunity to guide a new build from concept to completion. Set just outside of Boston, the result is a space that feels elevated yet entirely livable. Take the tour below to see how it all came together.

From Jamie Keefe Interiors This project was particularly meaningful as it marked my first opportunity to be involved from conception through completion. I was involved in every decision, from selecting the floor finishes and molding details to choosing tile, stone, lighting, hardware, and finally layering in furniture and décor. Helping turn a newly built house into a true home was such a rewarding experience.

The clients, a young couple with twin girls, had been living in the city but knew they wanted more space to grow. After touring homes that just didn’t feel right, they ended up finding a plot of land in a suburb just outside of Boston and decided to build their forever home. This project was a true collaboration, and I’m so thankful to my clients for trusting me with such an important part of their lives.

When you walk through the front door, the entry sets the tone. There’s a round table that grounds the space, and we played with shape and texture to add interest right away. Beyond that is the family room, with tall ceilings, a cozy sectional (perfect for watching the game), and easy access to the playroom and kitchen. The playroom, just behind a set of French doors, is a fun escape for the girls. While the space may look light and airy, it’s kid-friendly with a Chilewich rug that wipes clean and durable performance fabrics throughout.

The kitchen is warm and inviting, but still makes a statement with honed marble countertops and unlacquered brass fixtures. I love playing with contrast, and here we mixed natural stone with more polished elements to keep it interesting. An arched opening leads to a spacious pantry with black-and-white checkerboard marble floors—another favorite moment. Instead of a formal dining room, we created a dining space just off the kitchen with a custom dry bar that really shines during parties and holidays. The black metal-framed glass doors with oak cabinetry match the island, and the whole setup glows beautifully at night.

We used a lot of arched openings and decorative lighting throughout the home, and layered in applied molding to give it a more elevated feel. Most of the walls and trim are painted Benjamin Moore’s White Dove, which keeps everything feeling soft and cohesive. In the powder room, we took a bolder approach with a moody limewash wall treatment, deep green zellige floors, and warm brass fixtures. It’s one of my favorite little moments in the house.

In the primary suite, we brought back the checkerboard marble flooring (this time with radiant heat), paired with a white oak vanity that has reeded detailing and a black granite top. The shower is wrapped in zellige tile, a material we used in several spaces throughout the home because of its texture and depth.

There’s nothing more fulfilling than helping create a space where a family can grow, make memories, and truly feel at home.
