In coastal Manasquan, NJ, Moose Interior Design crafted a warm and modern home that features traditional touches. Originally hired for soft furnishings, Katherine’s role expanded to guide every design detail allowing her vision for a charming and contemporary space to shine through. The result is a beautifully crafted forever home, thoughtfully captured by photographer Meghan Balcom.
From the designer… I was referred by an old college friend that lived in north Jersey; her best friends happened to be building their forever home in my town, Manasquan. The couple and I could relate on a personal level with being young parents and owning their first home. The clients style was modern but with traditional elements, which is also one of my favorite design aesthetics. I was originally brought onto the project to do their soft furnishings but as the builder kept asking them for more details within the plumbing, millwork, lighting and tile, they were overwhelmed with too many decisions and needed help pulling together all of their wants and needs into a thoughtful design aesthetic. As a designer, I ideally like to design the whole space from start to finish, so it was nice to see the clients expand the scope of my work and have a designer on the whole area, rather than piece meal. Overall I really enjoyed helping create their forever home and make the house truly a home where they can raise their two daughters and grow old in.
