Kristyn Mark, of Mark Design Co., brought this Rancho Cucamonga home to life with a remodel that perfectly balances California’s easygoing style with sleek Scandinavian minimalism. Straus Design I Build executed the construction, ensuring every detail of the design was brought to fruition with precision.The playful mix of patterns—like checkered floors and terrazzo surfaces—adds character and warmth, while the clean lines and modern furnishings introduce a sleek, contemporary edge. Charlotte Lea Photography captured the transformation beautifully, highlighting the thoughtful details that make the space both stylish and family friendly.
From the designer… After eight years of making memories in their SoCal home, Ashley and Joe Kelly and their four children embarked on a comprehensive renovation to better suit their evolving family’s needs. We wanted this renovation to express the personalities of Joe and Ashley while staying true to their deep roots of both being from SoCal. Each of their children’s bedrooms was thoughtfully designed to reflect their individual personalities, complete with stylish en-suite bathrooms for privacy and convenience. A whimsical secret playroom was created to spark the kids’ imaginations, while a versatile loft space was added for future growth and activities. The remodel extended to the backyard, which was transformed into an inviting outdoor oasis, perfect for family gatherings and playtime. To accommodate visiting family, they also added a comfortable in-law suite, ensuring that both their families and other guests would feel right at home.
This renovation not only modernized their living space but also tailored it to foster family connection and comfort as their children grow.
