This split-level ranch originally built in the early 1960s is nearly unrecognizable after a monumental revitalization carried out by Maggie Vollrath of Provision Studios. With a thoughtful integration of reclaimed materials, European influences, and carefully selected furnishings, each room showcases a seamless blend of historical allure and modern sophistication creating a beloved abode. Addie Eanes captured the serenity and warmth of this Georgia home in the stunning photos below.

From the designer… Our Modern Tudor renovation began with a split-level ranch originally built in the early 1960s. While cherished, the home was due for both structural and cosmetic updates to transform it into the perfect dwelling place for its new family. We were so fortunate to follow this project from architectural planning to final furnishing and styling, and each room was planned with so much thoughtfulness down to the very smallest detail.

Drawing from European influences, the design team integrated a blend of reclaimed and modern materials. We led with rich textural elements such as reclaimed oak beams and columns, shiplap, a full masonry stove alcove, and limestone fireplace. Then paired them with a calming neutral color palette throughout the home. With those foundational pieces in place, we then took some risks along the way with creative tile layouts, color, and wallpaper to give each room a truly one of kind feel. Timeless selections such as marble, white oak, and brass were repeated in almost every room to infuse depth and character into every corner of the home.

We focused on vintage-inspired lighting fixtures which were selected to add lots of nostalgic charm. Livable furnishings with refined lines were curated to harmonize with the architectural elements. Overall, our hope while planning each phase of this project was that guests might not be able to pinpoint which details were original to the home and which were new.

A highlight we’re particularly fond of is the mudroom and laundry room. We mixed travertine and bluestone to create a checkerboard tile pattern for the floors, incorporated a floral cabinet door profile, and finished the room warm walnut countertops and lots of beautiful brass lighting. The vignette through arched doorways is one of our favorite moments we’ve created to date!
