Inspired by the lush backdrop of the surrounding New Jersey woodland, Cory Connor’s design ethos centered on melding functionality with the allure of nature resulting in a kitchen that seamlessly adapts to the rhythm of the seasons. Timeless style complemented with modern touches invite family to indulge in slow mornings with ever changing views. You can see how the space came together in the photos by Laura Moss Photography below.

From the designer… This spacious kitchen was originally four small rooms. By removing walls, we transformed the space into one large beautiful kitchen perfect for dining, cooking and entertaining. The design was inspired by the stunning view of the wooded area outside. We wanted to make this view the focal point of the kitchen. Although we initially planned to make the entire back wall windows, we opted for three windows to ensure ample storage space on the sink wall.

The neutrality of this kitchen allows nature to set the tone, creating different vibes each season. In the fall, the view offers a colorful backdrop with vibrant reds and oranges. During spring and summer, the greens of the trees add a fresh, lively touch. In winter, the kitchen becomes cozy as snow blankets the trees, creating a serene and picturesque scene. It really is a timeless kitchen that morphs into the mood of the nature that surrounds it.

The clients wanted a large coffee bar that could accommodate their coffee maker, a beverage refrigerator, and a wine refrigerator. There were a couple hiccups along the way with sheetrocking the arch before the cabinetry was installed but with a great team of people we were able to get through that bump.
