Massive windows and a soothing palette of neutrals make this Cold Spring Harbor abode an inviting place to gather. KKB Interiors carefully considered the use of white, as requested by the client, to create a fresh and bright home that is still comfortable and family-friendly. Read about the incredible collaborative process that gave rise to the clients’ dream home in the story below.
From the designer… This project was a dream from start to finish. The entire design and build team was genuinely upset when this home was complete and it was time to close the book on this project. Tricky situations were approached with a “yes we can” mentality, problems were solved with open communication and kindness, and the clients were completely trusting of the team they put together. We all continue to talk often because of the relationship we created, and I’ve now had the opportunity to work on more projects with the architect and builder.
The clients and I were connected through a mutual friend from my days working at NBC. We knew from our first chat about that project and their goals that it was the right match. They were building their dream home and wanted to assemble a team they could lean on for continuous guidance throughout this two-year project and know they could trust us implicitly. Our client, specifically the wife, loves white so we needed to incorporate it in a way that was livable and comfortable since they have a daughter (and now a dog, too!) and entertain a ton.
One of our favorite features in this home is a massive custom window in the family room!
