Brooke MT Interiors breathed new life into both the main living space and lower level of this Iowa City home. With practicality in mind, this transitional home transformation became a stylish endeavor with thoughtful details like grasscloth and striking moody green cabinetry. See the beautiful results in the tour below!
From the designer… We started out in the main living area which was initially filled with dark brown overstuffed sofas. We started by layering the existing wool rug and adding two performance fabric sofas with subtly curved arms and paired them with two slipcovered swivel chairs. To accent it all we added dark wood side table and coffee table to warm up the bright and airy walls. Her home is filled with exquisite art from Lasansky.
The lower level was remodeled with new flooring, paint, dry bar/pool storage area and TV built-ins. The lower level project started off with wanting a place to have a pull-out garbage can – in came the dry bar/pool storage area that also has storage for towels, laundry, servising dishes for guests, and other pool accessories. The TV built-in was designed around the only TV in the house. We added grasscloth behind the TV for extra texture and depth. My favorite part of the project is the moody green cabinetry color paired with the black leathered countertop.
