Built as a gathering place for friends and family to cut loose and unwind, this Utah home is apres ski perfection. See how Kimberly Parker Design created a cozy rendezvous while offering high-end luxury in the incredible tour below.
From the designer… When an Italian couple chose to downsize and move from California to the rustic mountains of Utah, they wanted to create a cabin-like home with modern lines and conveniences. It was to be a gathering place for family and friends to enjoy rugged views, have outdoor adventures, and mingle with guests. Mementos from their worldwide travels are displayed on office shelves, in the textiles on the beds, and the Moroccan rugs on the floors.
Unique qualities greet you from the moment you say hello, beginning with the live edge walnut and glass oversized pivot door at the entrance to custom light fixtures and furniture throughout. The client requested a live edge 154″ waterfall leg dining room table that seated eleven, so we had to go where the big trees grow. A huge live edge slab was found in Costa Rica and brought back to Utah where it was crafted into the dining room table.
After a day on the golf course in the summer or slopes in the winter, the lower level provides luxurious seating for watching the big game and a bar area with gilded backlit details where the client can perfect his mixology. For an avid wine collector, the wine room sits behind steel and glass walls with a secret passageway to a tasting room beyond. Shuffleboard and a game table are interactive entertainment and a custom record player table is connected to the AV system from which vintage music can be heard throughout the house. Relax in the steam room or adjacent hot tub next to one of three outdoor fireplaces.
