Refined and comfortable, cozy yet bright, this kitchen is everything California design is known for. Eye for Pretty placed a priority on creating a warm, welcoming, and laid-back hub in this family home, and we think they delivered tenfold. Take the tour below to see how they created this gorgeous kitchen.

From the designer, Nicole Salceda… Our goal for this project was to update everything by creating a brighter space with a better flow for this young family of four. By incorporating a small addition into the kitchen design, we were able to include a built-in dining area perfect for eating or playing games. The island was expanded to fit four chairs and a generous sink window was added along the back wall to maximize views of the backyard and surrounding hills.
The materials are really the star of this project ranging from the handmade zellige tile on the backsplash, the micro cement on the range hood and fireplace, and the rift-sawn white oak on the island. The brass in the Brizo faucets and the lighting fixtures add a touch of warmth while also elevating the space. All of these elements balance each other nicely and pay homage to the natural materials we find surrounding us in California.
This project is a perfect example of our signature design aesthetic where nothing is overly done or forced. Our goal was to evoke a feeling of calm and comfort and this family home exceeded our expectations.
