Centered around a gorgeous stone courtyard, this Arizona home channels rustic European appeal. Lauren Wallace Interiors brought in their expertise to give the unique footprint of the home more purpose for its new family and complimented the enchanting architecture with a light and soothing palette. The incredible photos below were taken by Michael Clifford.
From the designer… Lauren Wallace Interiors was introduced to this dreamy remodel project with the goal of breathing fresh life into existing European elements. The team achieved this by lightening the overall palette of the home and introducing fresh materials and textures that were better suited to the home and their clients’ aesthetic. The original floor plan of the home is quite unique to the previous owner, so LWI was also tasked with ensuring that the space was functional and practical for this young family’s lifestyle, which was a very big box to tick!
Centered at the heart of the home is an alluring and intimate courtyard. This courtyard, which was not only useful as a daily retreat, also became a beautiful backdrop of brick and foliage for some of the home’s main living spaces. LWI aimed to enhance these architectural elements by creating a theme for the home emphasizing the original wood stains and architectural brick wherever possible.
Creating a seamless flow throughout the home was a large obstacle the design team faced. In the end, we were able to create a highly functioning floor plan for the family by separating the home into “zones” for each family member: a children’s wing, an office wing and a luxurious primary retreat. We were also tasked with creating a curated yet elegant aesthetic, which was accomplished through the use of new and hand-crafted materials, new furniture paired with client heirlooms, and found treasures which are thoughtfully peppered throughout the home!
