Bianca Ecklund is known for creating earthy interiors with a luxurious feel, and this Manhattan Beach new build is no exception. Perhaps the best example of this lies in the spa-like ensuite that holds every item needed for a lavish night in, including a fireplace and wine fridge. Want to see how she pulled it all together? From the designer… Our team joined this project about halfway through construction which was later than we like but just in time to put the BED spin on each space. The homeowners were struggling to make design decisions and we were there to come to the rescue! We started by diving into the construction documents to dissect the electrical plan. In doing so we were able to identify areas in the house where we could create moments with lighting to define the space. This was necessary to complete in the early stages of the project in order to supply electrical locations to the contractor before closing up the walls.
Shortly after, we were into the fun stuff! The powder room tile really was the defining piece for the direction of our color palette. This seems to be my jam!!! I find the one must-have item that speaks to me and then everything just starts to come together. Of course, I have expensive taste as do our clients, let’s face it, don’t we all? So it was important for my team to pair the must-have pricey materials with some budget conscience selections to make sure that our clients were making smart choices in the overall investment for their home.
Pulling from our inspiration we created a primary bathroom that is truly a retreat. We kept the color palette soft for a spa like feel then added a pop of green for a statement. But the real showstopper in this space is the wine bar just steps from a freestanding tub with effervescent bubbles and a fireplace to top it off! Oh, and did I mention the TV? I mean, I don’t think I would leave!!
We are thrilled with the overall outcome of this project and are excited for our clients to enjoy their new home for years to come.
