With gentle contemporary touches around every corner, Mindy Gayer has brought us another home that optimizes her laid-back Southern California style. From the designer… This sprawling family home is a soft contemporary interpretation of the California style we love so much, and what our clients really sought to achieve throughout the extensive remodel. The remodel spanned the course of a little over two years. With a professional chef in the family, their kitchen serves as the focal point of the home with stained white oak cabinetry, a statement steel hood, and full slab backsplash. The kitchen was of utmost importance to our client when designing this home, along with ample storage and refined lines. The dirty kitchen, which sits behind the main kitchen, and is both a beautiful and functional extension of the main kitchen – with tons of storage, additional refrigeration and double ovens, prep sink and a mini office space.

This young family has three boys and one baby girl who call this home. As a result, we balanced refined soft contemporary finishes with family-friendly spaces loaded with built-in functionality. The grey limestone flooring flows seamlessly from the entry to the backyard to create an indoor-outdoor living space that maximizes coastal living for this beach-loving family.
