Sprawling and sophisticated, this home, designed by Lauren Wallace Interiors, is abundant in nuanced beauty and personal touches. The family of six who lives here will find longevity in the timeless design and comfort in a space tailored to meet all of their needs. Michael Clifford beautifully shot this home for us to enjoy today.
From the designer… This sprawling 13,197 square-foot home encompasses six bedrooms and ten bathrooms. Our clients, a youthful and lively couple were a delight to design for and their main objective was to create a home sturdy enough to outlive four children, yet still exuded a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic.
This project was a full home renovation and the team created a more inviting, open concept kitchen featuring double islands, ample storage, and a working pantry. Our favorite feature of which is the dry storage roll out baskets! This house also includes a hidden movie theater in which you enter through a mysterious bookshelf, amazing views of the Arizona mountainscape, an attached casita, and a completely detached pool house with a built-in kitchenette that’s perfect for entertaining by the pool. Not only does each bedroom consist of an en-suite bathroom, but there is also a flex room just off of the spa, that the family currently uses as a play space. Speaking of spas, the primary bedroom has a private patio complete with an inviting fireplace and a soaking spa just for the owners.
Aside from all of these amazing features, our favorite moment of the home is the bar, which is nicknamed “The book club”. The catchy name and later, neon sign, was influenced by the owner’s inside joke about how book club often turned into just an excuse for happy hour. We love incorporating a sense of humor and peeks into our clients’ lives in subtle ways such as this! The neon sign is mounted onto custom millwork spotted in a walnut finish, just below a beautiful banquette. The banquette is adorned in a luxe green velvet from Zoffany, Urban Electric sconces and brass trim.
