Imagine classic Craftsman style with a British twist and you just might see just what Krissy Rowan had in mind when she reinvented this Seattle kitchen. Bright, classic, and loaded with charm, this space oozes the subtle styling of a quintessential European kitchen. Scott O’Malley beautifully captured this space, and the incredible natural light it holds, in the photos below.

From the designer… This project was all about bringing character and charm back to the heart of the home in an original 1918 Craftsman. Our Bryant Craftsman project started out with a very brown kitchen that was part of a 90’s remodel. The color of the cabinets was the first thing we focused on. We originally chose Elephant’s Breath by Farrow and Ball but had to go back to the drawing board when the light-filled space brought out too much of the lavender hue in this classic and beautiful color. We ended up landing on Sandbar by Sherwin Williams, a little known color that turned out to be the perfect shade of sandy-greige for this space. From there we wanted to incorporate as many naturally-occurring and character adding elements, opting for a beautiful Carrera marble and all unlacquered brass hardware. The placement of the sink over the peninsula really makes the Devol living brass faucet the focal point of the kitchen. A Clè tile weathered white zellige backsplash, and vintage malayer rug really pull the room together.
