Drawing inspiration from the natural tones and textures of the surrounding landscape, designer, Ashley Martin, created a relaxed and inviting home mirroring its own environment. From the designer… This project, located in Oconee, GA, was a dream to design. The naturally beautiful surroundings provide stunning views from nearly every window of the home. This beautiful setting served as inspiration for creating a space that welcomed the outdoors in. Our goal was to incorporate and capture the organic beauty and peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding landscape in the design of the home.
The owner of this home is a builder, but he and his wife fully embraced our vision for their home, allowing me and my team to truly bring our vision to life. We used wood ceiling details to add warmth to the home, handmade tiles to incorporate an organic element, and many different finishes and textures to add depth and interest. The real show-stopper in this home is the kitchen. Originally, our client was a bit hesitant about committing to all black kitchen cabinetry, but she trusted us, and instantly fell in love with the design as soon as the cabinets were installed. After establishing our vision for the construction side of the project, we continued to weave it into our furniture selections, using earth tones, textures, and natural finishes to create an inviting, livable space. All of these elements work together to create a cohesive design that effectively captures the essence of the home’s effortlessly beautiful surroundings.
