You guys went head over heels when we shared this astounding before and after on Instagram! Today, we’re touring ALL of the rooms that Kirsten Holmstedt of Treasure in the Detail transformed in this home and oh, are they all just as good my friends. Kirsten is walking us through room by room and diving into how she and her team flipped them from dark and dated to fresh and bright for a sweet young family. Stephanie of LifeCreated captured it all below.

From Kirsten Holmstedt of Treasure in the DetailThe location and available space this home possessed was what appealed to the young family who purchased it, however the home was very dated and lacked character throughout. The existing layout and design elements of each of the spaces needed a fresh “ignite” to really show off this home’s true potential.

My design team was hired to come in and drive a fresh, cohesive design and style throughout the home with the ultimate goal to modernize, brighten, and drive more functionality for this family and their everyday life. Our design team focused on introducing neutral wood tones, patterns, and contrasting materials to drive a cohesive and inviting feel for timeless appeal.

Kitchen

The original kitchen was very dated and dark (see the before here and here). We completely transformed the space! We replaced the flooring with a natural oak wood, added the upper glass cabinets for extra storage and create the illusion of a heightened room, refinished the cabinets in a two-toned finish, and replaced all countertops in a beautiful vanilla white quartz. Additionally we wrapped the island in a modern style trim work, updated the backsplash with beautiful marble tones, and hung the amazing McGee & Co. gold pendants over the island to really bring a nice pop to the white kitchen.

Fireplace

The fireplace was initially off-centered and lacked any design interest (see the before here). We centered the fireplace, added the custom shelving and cabinetry on either side for extra storage, added the vertical shiplap behind for design interest, and warmed up the space with the floor to ceiling brick. The gold sconce lighting was a perfect touch to highlight the accented details and decorative accessories.

Powder Bathroom

Being a small bathroom we wanted to lighten the space with the white shiplap and balance with a warm modern vanity (see the before here). The pop of gold in the Kohler faucet and the bold patterned black and white cement tile really modernized and gave the space interest.

Kid’s Bathroom

The goal of this space was to update, lighten, and make a more usable space for the kiddos of the home (see the before here). We refinished the cabinets in the beautiful blue/gray finish, updated all hardware, lighting, and mirrors, and re-tiled the flooring in an amazing patterned tile. The vanity finish and brass pulls are a great surprise against the bathroom’s black and white mosaic tile floor.

Master Bathroom

What a makeover! This bathroom was completely updated (see the before here)! The only thing that remained was the vanity and even this was refinished in the gorgeous deep blue finish (Benjamin Moore Gentlemen’s Gray) – a nice visual anchor to bring a bit of masculinity and balance. We replaced the existing built-in tub with a freestanding to add more luxury to the space and really show off the beautiful natural greenery outside. The shower was widened and finished in a beautiful marble tile. The marble flooring throughout the bathroom just screams elegance and class. The modern blue vanity and the pops of gold in the lighting bring a nice modern balance to the space. The white walls and quartz countertops were selected to keep the bold contrasts from overwhelming the space.
