Allison Handler Design was brought in to elevate this home beyond its spec origins into a bespoke masterpiece. Embracing a modern organic aesthetic, her design highlights unique features such as a striking kitchen with mixed materials and a standout 10-foot steam shower in the primary bathroom. Captured beautifully by photographer Raquel Langworthy, the home’s custom details and warm, inviting atmosphere showcase a thoughtful blend of style and comfort.
From the designer… This was a new construction home – which actually began as a spec home but took an exciting turn when a buyer purchased it midway through construction and enlisted our services for furnishing. We knew we wanted a modern aesthetic while still keeping the house warm and cozy. Some of the stand out features of the home for me are definitely the kitchen. I love how the mixed materials of black and wood cabinetry, quartzite counters and backsplash mixed with a white Zellige backsplash on the sink wall, and the oversized pendants over the island, give the kitchen a unique feel. The primary bathroom’s standout 10-foot steam shower and the home’s black accents—such as beams, stair treads, and interior doors, give it an edge. While this was a spec house, we added in special details to really make the house feel more custom, such as a full custom slat wall on the staircase, brass sleeves on the balusters, white oak beams in the living room, etc.
Each bedroom in this house is en suite and each bathroom has its own personality which also makes the house feel more custom, and cozy.
