In the hands of Erica Bryant Design, a dated 1980s kitchen found new life as a warm, moody space that balances functionality with comfort for everyday family living and entertaining. Every detail of this kitchen reflects the client’s trust in the design vision, culminating in a rewarding transformation that marries practicality with timeless style. You can take a peek at the highlights below, captured beautifully by Mandy McGregor Photography.

From the designer… We were so excited to transform a 1980s kitchen that had undergone some minor facelifts over time into a more functional layout and better use of space. My client wanted a warm and moody kitchen that was a hard working room yet provided comfort for her family’s everyday use and felt inviting for friends to gather while entertaining. My client and I connected right away, and she wasn’t afraid to put her trust in Erica Bryant Design and the vision I had for her project.

A few favorite features stemmed from solving a design dilemma; creating a kitchen with many unique, hidden storage areas. These can be found behind the break-front pantry as well as the appliance garage that conceals large electrics. We can’t forget the wall of storage that houses everyday kitchen items and turns a corner into what becomes a tucked away place for her children’s papers and debris. I also love that the island feels more like a furniture piece and functions well as a serving bar. A favorite of mine is the unique lighting that brought the perfect final touch or icing on the cake, if you will. Transforming this home with a little imagination, a lot of vision, and my client’s amazing style has been a rewarding experience.
