Kelsey and Ryann of Form Design Collective transformed a charming Mediterranean bungalow into a cozy abode. Through a careful blend of transitional decor featuring warm woods, luxurious textures, and a bold palette of greens, they curated a space that reflects the client’s vibrant personality and impeccable taste. Photographer, Lauren Taylor, captured this California home’s striking a balance between modern elegance and timeless charm.
From the designer… We met our client through a prior client referral, and she was in the process of relocating from San Francisco to the Los Angeles area. We initially met virtually and quickly connected, she knew exactly what she wanted and had fantastic taste and direction – soon we were off to creating her perfect space! Throughout this charming mediterranean bungalow, we wanted to curate an ambiance of coziness and relaxation by incorporating color and texture, subtle mid-century touches, and a rich array of wood finishes. Our goal was to infuse the interiors with intrigue, a sense of calm, and an element of surprise.
Our client loved taking risks with color, which allowed us to play with different tones and textures. Throughout the home, you will notice dominantly the use of greens, warm woods, and golden hues. We then introduce a mauve pink and rich plum in the primary bedroom to cozy up this space and channel a sense of femininity. We created movement throughout the home by incorporating several different textures including velvet, boucle, linen, woven rugs and smooth woods and warm metals.
I love working with Kelsey & Ryann. Their style is fresh and sophisticated and they always have such positive energy on shoot day. They’re also always up for a portrait which completes the project shoot so nicely!
